River Ratz Poker League is built to reward both competition and community.
We understand that our league is made up of different types of players. Some players are chasing podium finishes and championship prizes, while others play for entertainment, camaraderie, and the love of the game. Our structure is designed to support both. Strong finishes still matter most, with the largest point awards going to the top positions each night, ensuring that skill and performance are clearly rewarded. At the same time, players who show up regularly and stay engaged are not left behind.
To achieve this balance, River Ratz will now award points not only for top finishes, but also for participation and commitment. Playing consistently and pre-registering online both earn points, helping regular players build momentum over the course of a quarter even on nights when the cards don’t cooperate. This keeps standings competitive, encourages full tables throughout the week, and ensures that loyal players feel progress while still preserving the prestige of winning.
At the same time, our prize structure has been significantly strengthened. Quarterly tournaments now feature a much larger prize pool than in previous seasons, with substantial payouts for the top three finishers. In addition, the top 10 players in each quarterly standings automatically qualify for the annual Championship Tournament, where even bigger prizes are on the line. This creates a clear competitive pathway: play regularly, earn points, qualify for the quarterly, and compete for a seat in the Championship. The result is a league where dedication is valued, competition remains meaningful, and every player has a reason to return to the table.
